INTERVIEW SOFTWARE COMPARISON
LensAid vs Parakeet AI: compare credits and platform fit
LensAid and Parakeet AI both offer prepaid credits. Compare their units, platform support and live interview workflows before choosing.
VPO Labs makes LensAid. This comparison uses published product documentation, not an independent hands-on benchmark. Features and prices can change; check the linked sources before choosing.
LensAid and Parakeet AI both offer prepaid access, so avoiding a subscription does not by itself distinguish them. LensAid is a focused choice for an Apple Silicon Mac workflow with documented local transcription. Parakeet offers broader device access and subscription options alongside credits. [1][2][3][4]
LensAid and Parakeet AI at a glance
| Criterion | LensAid | Parakeet AI |
|---|---|---|
| Prepaid access | Available; one credit per live minute [2] | Available; 0.5 credit per 30-minute call [4] |
| Platform | Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 14+ [1] | Windows/macOS desktop, desktop Chrome and mobile web [4] |
| Local transcription | Explicitly documented [3] | Not established by sources reviewed here |
Both offer credits, but the units are different
LensAid charges one credit for one live minute. Preparation actions are priced separately, while answers, screenshots and follow-ups during live time are included. For example, two 30-minute sessions require 60 live credits, plus whatever preparation actions you select. The pricing page explains that pauses and initial model loading do not consume live time. [2]
Parakeet’s official page also offers prepaid packs and lists 0.5 credit for a 30-minute call. Its credits therefore cannot be compared numerically with LensAid credits. Calling one pack “more credits” tells you little unless you first translate both into the same planned workload. [4]
Make a small usage plan before buying: number of sessions, expected minutes, preparation work and any other outputs you want. Compare the final amount charged for that plan. We have not measured equivalent answer quality or established that either service always costs less.
What the published Parakeet prices mean
The euro version of Parakeet’s page displayed Unlimited at €129.90 monthly, or €519.90 billed yearly, shown as €43.33 per month. It also displayed a €67 weekly option and a three-credit pack for €51. These are a dated regional snapshot, not a currency conversion or a guarantee of checkout pricing. [4]
The annual monthly equivalent is not the amount you pay to try it for one month. The same distinction matters for every comparison: separate money due today from the average monthly cost of a longer commitment. LensAid’s prepaid approach removes recurring renewal from that decision, but Parakeet’s credit route does too. [2][4]
The current LensAid offer starts at €6.99 for 50 credits, excluding applicable checkout taxes. That is an entry pack, not unlimited access or an equivalent bundle to every competing plan. Prices were checked on 22 September 2026. [2][5]
A Mac workspace or access across devices?
LensAid supports Apple Silicon and macOS 14+, with English transcription. It combines CV and job context, live help and a transcript and recap you can revisit afterward. Its interface places guidance close to the Mac camera. [1]
Parakeet documents Windows and macOS desktop apps, desktop Chrome access, and a mobile web experience. It also lists uploaded documents and AI notes. Broader platform access is a practical reason to prefer it if your workflow does not stay on one supported Mac. [4]
Test the environment you actually use. A successful demo in a browser does not establish how your chosen desktop audio setup behaves; likewise, an attractive Mac interface does not establish suitability for a Windows machine. Device fit should eliminate unsuitable options before you compare small differences in price.
Choose by your processing and platform requirements
Choose LensAid when local speech recognition and a Mac-centered live interview workspace are explicit requirements. Its privacy page states that transcription runs locally, while relevant conversation context and requested captures go to OpenAI for AI help. This is a scoped processing benefit, not a claim that the entire app works offline or that Parakeet is less private. [1][3]
Choose Parakeet when cross-device access or its wider call workflow is more important. If both fit your devices, compare how each uses conversation context to provide live answers and follow-up guidance. Avoid choosing on credit counts alone. [4]
