Compare LensAid’s interview-focused Mac workflow and prepaid credits with Cluely’s meeting assistant and subscription plans.

LensAid is the better fit if you want a prepaid Mac workspace for live interview help grounded in your CV and target role. Cluely is worth considering if your main need is assistance and notes across everyday meetings. The useful distinction is the job you need the product to do, rather than an overall winner. Start with the workflow you need

LensAid connects your experience and a job description with preparation, live guidance and later transcript review. It is built for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later; transcription is currently English. The interface places suggestions near the camera, with a one-time model and permissions setup. [1]

Cluely presents itself as a meeting assistant and notetaker. Its pricing page lists custom instructions, file uploads and asking AI about past meetings. For someone attending many different calls rather than focusing on a particular job opportunity, that meeting-centered offering may be a closer match. [4][5]

Think about what happens after the call. Do you want to revisit how your own experience answers a hiring question, or retrieve something from a collection of work meetings? Test the task that matters instead of assuming every assistant with a transcript solves the same problem.

How the payment choices compare

LensAid uses prepaid credits without a subscription. Live time costs one credit per minute; preparation has separate action prices. A 45-minute interview uses 45 live credits before any preparation, making the unit of planned live use straightforward. Live answers, screenshots and follow-ups are included during that time. [2]

Cluely’s desktop monthly pricing displayed Starter free, Pro at $19.99 per month, and Pro + Undetectability at $149.99 per month. The free tier has limited responses and notetaking; Pro lists unlimited responses and notetaking. These are the displayed monthly figures checked on 22 September 2026, not annual equivalents. [4]

If you need an assistant throughout the working month, a recurring plan may be convenient. If you need live help for a specific interview, prepaid access avoids a renewal you may forget to cancel. Neither model proves lower total cost without specifying the amount of use and the features you need.

The current LensAid offer starts at €6.99 for 50 credits, excluding applicable checkout taxes. That is an entry pack, not unlimited access or an equivalent bundle to every competing plan. Prices were checked on 22 September 2026. [2][6]

Privacy and screen sharing are separate questions

LensAid documents local speech recognition. Relevant conversation context still goes to OpenAI for AI guidance, and requested screenshots are sent too. That means “local transcription” describes one part of the processing, not a promise that every feature is local or that the service needs no network. [3]

Its website limits screen-sharing claims to tested setups. Cluely lists a separate paid tier for screen-share hiding. We have not conducted comparative capture or privacy tests and do not rank either product’s resistance to detection. A private-looking overlay also says nothing by itself about where content is processed. [1][4]

Set up your audio permissions before the interview so LensAid can transcribe the conversation and provide live guidance. [1]

Our recommendation

Choose LensAid for live interview assistance on a compatible Mac when prepaid usage and a documented local transcription boundary are priorities. Consider Cluely when a meeting-oriented assistant and access to past meeting context better match your daily work. [1][2][3][4]

Use a short, repeatable trial: bring one role description, ask a question tied to your experience, then review what you can recover afterward. Keep answer usefulness separate from interface preference. This comparison supports a choice of workflow; it does not predict hiring outcomes.
